About the Event

An Adventure for Kids: How to integrate mind, body and spirit into our everyday lives.

Join teachers/authors/adventurers Jason Gruhl, Lauren Moon and Drew Jared Irwin for an immersive experience of how to cultivate childhood mindfulness and presence. Through fun and engaging activities, we will experience yoga, explore connection to self and others, sense our senses, and find our voices. We will help children synthesize the day’s activities and devise strategies for bringing what they’ve learned out into the world. Parents and guardians will delve into tools to integrate mindfulness into their parenting style.

This Adventure Program is geared towards children ages 7-10 and the adults in their lives.

We welcome ONE parent per child to join for Mindful Parenting 101! We will have guest speakers from Non-Violent Communication, Conscious Discipline, and much more!

Expect your child to travel through different 'lands' of mindfulness! This curriculum has been created specifically for children ages 7-10 to learn about mindfulness practices through our senses, creativity, imagination, and the integration of the body, mind, and spirit. We will also be covering breathing techniques, yoga practices, and meditation in a fun and exciting environment that will 'plant the seed' of mindfulness for your children to take with them into their every day lives.

Expect to be challenged and educated on the power of mindfulness at home. We will have guest speakers who are highly recognized in their field of specialty offering valuable tips and techniques that you can apply at home. We believe mindfulness practices at home are VITAL to a families success so we have worked hard to bring speakers who will also 'plant the seed' for YOU!

Parents will NOT be with their children during the event. We will keep the parents and children separated to allow proper integration for both parties. We will reunite at the end of the event.

Please bring children (and parents) with an open mind, full bellies, snacks, and a water bottle! (We are creating a green event so please be aware of the trash we are producing)

About Hosts

Lauren Moon is the Founder of Yogiful and the creator of #wigglelikeaworm . Her passion for teaching children pours into all aspects of her life. Other than running Yogiful Lauren is a Kids Yoga Program Director, Yoga Nanny, Children's Yoga Teacher, AcroYoga Instructor, and Children's Mindfulness Coach. She has dedicated her life to educating children and she wouldn't have it any other way! Lauren fell in love with her physical body through movement and play in the form of AcroYoga. She hopes to encourage us all to realize our inner strength and compassion for others and ourselves through the art of movement, play, and yoga. Laurens' passion is to teach both adults and children the powerful existence one can have while living in the present moment. As we all know, playfulness and living life through a 'child's eye' is something adults commonly forget. Her goal is to create a new wave of mindful leaders, starting with our youth.

Jason Gruhl believes that all kids are smart, brave, kind, and creative, and he writes books to help them remember that. As an Author and Psychotherapist for children and adults, he is dedicated to making a difference in people's lives and to helping them realize their power and potential. Jason is the former Founder and Executive Director of The Joshua School (a school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Disabilities in Boulder and Denver, Colorado), and specializes in Educational/Organizational Consulting, Autism, and Developmental Disabilities, and holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. His first picture book, Everything is Connected, was published by Bala Kids, (the children's imprint for Shambhala Publications) in February 2019.

Drew Jared Irwin has specialized in designing and leading youth programs in schools and challenge courses for the past eight years. He has also served as a mentor in a variety of educational settings. Drew believes that games that foster teamwork, learning, and understanding of personal roles in group setting increase self-esteem through challenge-by-choice education. Drew is the owner of Growth Adventures LLC, a business that aims to bring urban youth into the wilderness to better understand themselves.
